Welcome to Keepers of the Reef!
On a larger scale we protect the worlds reef life by containing it, propagating it and sharing it. Aquaculture of existing stocks multiplies one of the worlds true resources, its reefs while not further damaging its delicate structure.
The Keepers of the Reef has been established to unite these individuals.

EmailWhen we speak of "Cycle" we are talking about a nitrogen cycle. The food rots, fish waste, Bacteria die ect this is a natural part of a life cycle... However, the byproduct of this event is Ammonia. Ammonia is highly toxic to all living creatures.. In a "fully cycled" system we have at least two forms of bacterial colonies that when fully established will break these harmful compounds down into less and less toxic forms.

EmailThe question is much like asking a 6 year old girl, "Do you want a puppy?" the answer of course is an enthusiastic, "YES!". Early on the puppy is exciteing and the center of attention.. Quickly, the new wears off and that same puppy becomes an all to often neglected "DOG".
